If your audio driver is not initializing, it can often cause things to run too fast. RetroArch is an open source and cross platform frontend/framework for emulators, game engines, video games, media players and other applications. RetroArch isnt itself an emulator instead, its a front-end capable of running a wide number of emulators. Iirc, the driver should be 'gl', and audio should be either 'switchthread' or 'audrenthread' for the best performance.
